Why did we choose Infoblox?
Infoblox offers a secure platform to detect malware on clients, to isolate infected devices and to mitigate attacks. The comprehensive Infoblox platform based on hardened DDI (DHCP, DNS and IP Address Management or IPAM) also analyses, secures and controls your network. As DNS is one of the most used threat vectors for enterprises, TrueGEN teamed up with Infoblox’s solutions to deal with those security threats.
What does Infoblox provide?
Infoblox provides core network services – including DNS, DHCP and IP address management (DDI) as well as NTP – to on-premises, cloud and hybrid networks.
Core network services provide and manage critical data that maintains relationships between users, their IP-connected devices, user permissions and network resources. This critical data includes:
- IP addresses
- Domain Name System (DNS) services: DNS is an essential infrastructure component that has a unique place in the network. It is an ideal enforcement point for protection and reacts to threats like DNS attacks, Advanced Persistent Threats (APT), malware and data exfiltration.
- Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC): Advanced DNS Protection constantly monitors, detects and dops many types of DNS attacks – including volumetric attacks such as floods and NXDOMAIN as well as non-volumetric attacks like exploits and anomalies – while responding to legitimate queries. It maintains DNS integrity which can be compromised by DNS hijacking attacks.
- IP addressing services via the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
- Network visibility and control through IP address management (IPAM): Knowing what is on your network is the first step in securing your network. Infoblox can help building your asset inventory. Scanning the network will provide you with all the information you need from an endpoint (who is logged in, where it is currently connected, …).
The Infoblox Grid is created by linking appliances across a distributed enterprise and provides our customers with a very high uptime.
BloxOne Threat Defense will protect your endpoints from reaching out to malicious domains and IP-adresses and so protecting all clients from reaching compromised sites and applications. At the same time, it will scan all the queries for any data exfiltration that takes place over the DNS protocol. All of this can be either installed on-premise or as a cloud service.
What is the benefit for our customers?
The proliferation of devices is leading to an exponential increase in demand for core network services. Along with the explosive growth of mobile devices, the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to an increased number of “smart devices” clamoring for their own place at the table for network services. The vast array of smart devices includes everything from ATMs to cameras, connected manufacturing equipment, connected vehicles and smart devices. Each device needs its own IP address. All these simultaneous demands, from both devices and applications, dramatically increase the scale and scope of delivering network services. Ensuring availability and simplifying management of these services is a top priority for IT and this is where Infoblox provides clearly added value.
